"Indulge yourelf. Adrenaline is
a terrific read comfortably encased in some really good writing....The
plot moves forward with sureness and speed, which, come to think
of it, is exactly what a thriller is supposed to do."

Adrenaline
explores the hunger for adventure that is as basic
a need for some people as food, drink, or love. There are examples
of it all around us, from the motorcyclist on the highway who just
can't resist cracking open the throttle a little further; to climbers
dying on Everest; to women who are attracted to men they know to
be violent. Brushing close to death makes many people feel alive.
Fear is the governor for most of us. Fear of getting hurt, or killed.
Fear of not meeting our responsibilities to our loved ones.
Imagine if you crossed someone who craves an adrenaline rush the
way a heroin addict craves a fix. Crossed someone who fears nothing.
What if that person threatened to kill the one you loved most—unless
you played a game by his rules? A game that designed for maximum
adrenaline rush.
When Steve Dern beats Geoff Mann out of the CEO position at the
multinational Jansten Enterprises, he knows heâs taken on
a tough corporate opponent. Geoff is a high flying young businessman
with a ãwild manä reputation. His ruthless financial
success is rivaled only by his taste for extreme sports: rock climbing,
motorcycle racing, the martial arts.
Geoff loses everything when he loses his job: money, prestige,
power. He plunges to street level—only to find he likes it.
A chance encounter with a desperate young prostitute and her vicious
pimp gives Geoff a chance to discover that murder delivers the best
rush of all.
What follows is a fast and shocking ride as Geoff thrusts Steve
into a dangerous game with Steveâs wife, Lisa, as the prize.
To save her, Steve must plan and execute the theft of over a million
dollars from a brutal drug lord. As Lisa struggles to free herself,
Steve must confront his worst fears and find a way to not only keep
up with Geoff--but to surpass him.
Together, Steve and Lisa must find a way to teach Geoff to feel
fear. To feel pain. In short, they must find a way to scare the
hell out of him.
Adrenaline is a no-holds barred thriller that lives up
to its name. |
